- Funds from this grant will be used for costs associated with training and competition for special athletes. These activities allow them to develop leadership skills, joy, courage, self-esteem and friendships thus giving them an opportunity to contribute to our community.

Alpine Skiing, Aquatics, Athletic, Basketball, Bocce, Bowling, Equestrian, Golf, Gymnastics, Horseshoes, Powerlifting, Roller Skating, Snowboarding, Soccer, Softball, Ice Skating, Tennis, Team Handball, and Volleyball.

- More than 100 local competition events are held in Tennessee each year.
- Special Olympics Tennessee is solely dependent upon contributions from businesses, individuals, civic and service organizations, and from funds generated through special projects and events such as The Nashville Golf Classic.
